This documentary series seeks to reimagine the lives and works of female contemporary artists born before the Korean Armistice Agreement in 1953. Through the perspectives of young artists in their 30s and 40s, as well as filmmakers, the series reconstructs the trajectories of these pioneering women, exploring how different eras and generations converse with one another through a new visual language on screen. The series poses essential questions: What does it mean to be an artist in our society? Why did some artists have to leave Korea, and why do some return? Why is longevity important for female artists? How do those women artists who passed away young continue to endure in our memory? By following the subversion, drifting, detours, and returns of these artists, the audience is invited to reflect on their own questions. One central theme explored is: How can living truthfully as an artist lead to a fulfilled, happy life?
